CheckmyID is an identity document scanning and verification app developed by Risk Group Pty Ltd as a companion tool for Validex.com.au. We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy.

1. Purpose of the App

CheckmyID is used to:

Scan and verify government-issued identity documents (e.g., passports, driver's licenses)
Support identity verification for users who receive authentication codes from Validex.com.au

2. How the App Works

The user starts a verification session using an authentication code from Validex.com.au
The app uses the device camera to capture an image of the identity document
AI and OCR are used to extract document data
Data is securely transmitted to Validex backend services, which interface with the Australian Government Document Verification Service (DVS)
Verification results are sent back to Validex.com.au

3. Data Collection & Usage

We only collect personal data required to perform document verification.

Collected Data:

Captured image of your identity document (temporary)
OCR-extracted identity information (name, document number, DOB, etc.)
Validex-issued authentication code (to initiate and track the session)

Identity data is used solely for verification purposes

Data is not stored on the device after the session ends

Data is not sold, shared, or used for marketing

Verification results are returned to Validex only

4. Data Retention & Security

Data is securely transmitted via encrypted HTTPS channels to Validex
Identity data is not retained by CheckmyID
Validex may temporarily store verification data in compliance with Australian legal requirements
We do not use analytics, advertising, or profiling

5. User Permissions

Camera access: to scan your identity document
Users are prompted for permission before any access

6. Children’s Privacy

CheckmyID and Validex are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data immediately.

7. User Control and Consent

Verification sessions can only be initiated by entering a Validex-issued authentication code
This ensures users have full control over when and how their identity is verified

8. Data Safety and Compliance

CheckmyID follows Google Play’s Data Safety policies
All processing aligns with the Australian Privacy Act 1988
We follow the Australian Government guidelines for identity verification and the Australian Privacy Principles
