Validex verifies applicant identity using TrueVault, a digital identity platform designed to reduce the need for collecting and storing copies of personal identity documents. This approach reflects contemporary best practice in digital identity, privacy protection and cyber security.
Identity verification is completed as a mandatory component of your nationally coordinated criminal history check. The cost of identity verification, including enrolment in a reusable digital identity, is included in the price of your police check.
Many police check providers require applicants to upload copies of passports, driver licences and other sensitive documents that are then retained within provider systems. This creates ongoing privacy exposure and increased cyber security risk due to the aggregation and storage of high-value identity data.
Using TrueVault, identity is verified digitally against authoritative sources without the ongoing retention of identity document images by Validex. Validex does not maintain a central repository of applicant identity documents as part of this process.
This materially reduces the long-term attack surface associated with document-based identity verification models while maintaining compliance with ACIC identity verification requirements.
We provide comprehensive cybersecurity services to safeguard your digital assets, prevent potential threats, and ensure a secure environment.
Once your identity has been verified, you may reuse your verified digital identity for future police checks or other identity-related processes supported by the TrueVault ecosystem. This removes the need to repeatedly upload or submit sensitive documents for each new application.
Reuse is always subject to your control. You determine when and how your verified identity is shared or applied. Validex cannot reuse your identity without your authorisation.
TrueVault provides identity verification services only and operates as an approved subcontractor to Validex for identity enrolment. Identity enrolment processes are subject to ACIC contractual requirements.
Validex remains the accredited provider of nationally coordinated criminal history checks and is responsible for applicant consent, submission of applications, receipt of results, and compliance with privacy and contractual obligations under the National Police Checking Service framework.
This separation of responsibilities ensures strong governance, defined accountability and regulatory compliance at each stage of the process.
Validex combines accredited access to the National Police
Checking Service with applicant-controlled digital identity
architecture.
The result is a police check process that:
This reflects a deliberate shift toward data minimisation and applicant-controlled identity systems, consistent with evolving expectations in privacy and cyber security governance.
